Tony is a genuine thinker and strategist with over 50 years experience spanning architecture, interior design, furniture design, industrial design, graphics, signage and project management. He is exacting and versatile in disciplines where no detail can be overlooked or taken for granted. Tony’s high-level construction knowledge also makes him adept at on-site resolutions. Having just achieved my official Accreditation as a Passive House Designer, I’m keen to start implementing Passive House principles in innovative, environmentally responsible residential design solutions for our clients. Becoming known as the world’s most sustainable building code, the Passive House concept produces highly efficient, low-impact homes with negligible CO₂ emissions. Occupants enjoy increased comfort & healthier air quality, with radically reduced energy consumption compared to conventional buildings.
Studying this exacting science-based building system was a revelation. I gained an understanding of the technical attributes and component specifications, the effects of potential variants relating to climate and location, and calculations for performance checking. Adopting this code on future residential design projects will produce high-quality, energy-efficient houses for our clients – enhancing lifestyle, health & comfort, with the ongoing financial bonus of reduced energy costs and the environmental merit of a vastly diminished carbon footprint. With construction contributing a whopping 39% of global carbon emissions p/a, it’s time to take the Passive House path to a sustainable future.
The intensive Passive House Designer Course was conducted by Daniel Kress of Smart Plus Academy, in Sydney, with internationally recognised Certification from Germany’s PassivHaus Institut.
